Banksia Seed Pods

Banksia seed pods

Native to southwestern Australia and found on trees from the Banksia genus. 

Although numerous Banksia species exist, only the Bull Banksia (Banksia grandis) pods are suitable for woodturning due to their size and density.

The Banksia Seed Pod has a unique appearance and texture, with reddish brown fuzz and a dense, wood-like core. Its seed cavities can be filled with coloured resin inlay or used as a design feature.
