If you're new to woodworking and looking for your first thicknesser, the Perform PD318BT is a fantastic place to start. It's compact, easy to use, and simple to store thanks to its fold-up tables. These tables also help to support longer pieces of wood, making your work easier and more stable.
This machine has a strong 1,800W motor that can remove up to 2.5mm of material in one pass, helping you shape your wood quickly and efficiently. It uses two high-speed steel (HSS) blades that can be re-sharpened, delivering up to 18,000 cuts per minute. Combined with a feed speed of 7 m/min, this gives your wood a smooth, clean finish. An easy-to-read scale makes adjusting the machine simple, even if you’re just starting out.
You can work with timber up to 153mm thick and 318mm wide, which is great for a variety of projects. The fold-down table extensions at the front and back, along with end rollers, give extra support when working with longer boards.
To help keep your workspace clean, there's a 50mm dust extraction outlet that you can connect to a vacuum extractor. For safety, the motor includes overload protection and a reset circuit breaker. It also has an NVR (No-Volt Release) switch, which stops the machine from starting up by accident.
The PD318BT is lightweight and portable, making it easy to move around your workshop. It’s suitable for both hard and soft woods and comes with all the tools you need, including a blade setting jig.
