Also known as Mukwa, Kiatt or Umbilo, this is a timber popular in South Africa for furniture making and turning.

It is one of the softest African timbers. With strong grain lines similar to olive but lighter in colour, this timber has waxy texture that cuts to a shine, especially on spindle work.
